About Us

The Iowa Food System Coalition (IFSC) is a statewide, nonpartisan network working to strengthen Iowa’s food system through collaboration, research, policy development, communications, and collective action.

IFSC brings together organizations, institutions, agencies, businesses, and individuals working across farming, food access, public health, education, conservation, economic development, and community development to support a more resilient, equitable, and economically vibrant food system in Iowa.

The Coalition launched Setting the Table for All Iowans in 2024 — a statewide food system plan designed to guide collaborative work over the next decade.

The plan focuses on increasing local food production and consumption, strengthening food infrastructure and market opportunities, improving community health, and supporting resilient rural and regional economies across Iowa.
