advocacy resources

Each year, the Iowa Food System Coalition brings farmers, food system leaders, and community members together at the Iowa Capitol for Food & Farm Day at the Hill. This annual event is a cornerstone of IFSC’s advocacy work, creating space for Iowans to share on-the-ground perspectives and engage directly with policymakers shaping food and farm policy.

IFSC is advocating for a stronger, more equitable food system that supports farmers, expands food access, and strengthens Iowa’s economy while protecting soil and water.

This page is designed to support advocacy throughout the legislative session. Below, you’ll find practical guidance on how Iowa’s legislature works, how to engage effectively, and where food system priorities intersect with state policy. Whether you’re participating in Food & Farm Day or following the session from home, these resources are here to help you show up informed and prepared.
