Iowa’s agriculture includes a vibrant table-food farm and business scene, yet nearly 90% of the food Iowan’s eat is imported, resulting in valuable food dollars leaving our state every day. Targeted investment, policies, and technical assistance can support more of the farms and businesses that produce food in Iowa. This will generate economic vitality for rural communities and create a more resilient food supply for our state. The Coalition is committed to prioritizing local and regional farm and food businesses to cultivate equity and opportunity in our state.
