Join us on Thursday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m. for a virtual town hall on Iowa’s local food and nutrition programs. Hear from farmers, school nutrition leaders, food pantries, food banks, SNAP-Ed educators, and rural grocers about the impact of programs such as Local Food for Schools (LFS), Local Food Purchase Assistance (LFPA), Choose Iowa, Double Up Food Bucks, SNAP, and Healthy Kids Iowa.
Panelists include Kaitlyn Scheuermann, MPP-D, RDN, LD, Dietitian at Waukee Community Schools; Aron Brecht with HACAP Food Reservoir; Missy Loux from First Lutheran Food Pantry in Clarion; and Tom Mulholland of Mulholland Grocery in Malvern. They will be joined by other speakers representing SNAP-Ed educators and Iowans with lived experience, offering a wide range of perspectives on how food programs affect families and communities across the state.
This free event is open to legislators, candidates, and the public — anyone interested in building a healthier, more resilient Iowa food system.
